For hundreds of years the Jews waited for the Messiah and missed it. There was no pomp and circumstance. The birth of Jesus is a confirmation that God is real and His plan is real. The birth proved God’s faithfulness, His truthfulness, and His desire to save us from sin. Jesus came to earth to show us how to live.

There are three separate reactions to the arrive of Jesus Christ.
The King was unhappy with a new king and wanted him dead and gone.
The Innkeeper could see Mary was with child but passed them on. Maybe he was concerned but not enough to change things.
The Shepherds ran to worship Jesus.
