Two similar stories.  One is at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry when he calls the disciples.  The other is post-resurrection when Jesus appears for the third time to the disciples and tells them to go live for Him.

Jesus places two calls on our life: one is a call of salvation to come and follow Him; two is a call of vocation to go and live for Him.

Fishing was Peter’s old live and everything he knew. Luke 5

But in John 21, those same fish became something he laid down at the feet of Jesus as an offering.

Jesus didn’t need those fish, but Peter was bringing Jesus what he had.

Whatever is in your net, whatever you’re holding on to, bring it to Jesus and lay it at His feet.

Follow Jesus (believe) and then go live your life for Him.
