SENIOR LEAD PASTOR
We are looking for a full-time senior pastor who is ordained in the Wesleyan Church or willing to complete the ordination process.  It is important that the pastor agrees and supports The Articles of Religion and Guides to Holy Living in the Wesleyan Church.

CHURCH CONGREGATION
The Wesleyan Church of Fairfield, Illinois averages 80 weekly in attendances with a healthy mix of ages – children to elderly, blue collar and white collar workers.  The people are very giving of their time for service and financially with tithes and offerings.  After 22 years of service, the most recent pastor felt a call to move back to his home church. 
 
CHURCH MINISTRY AREAS
Sunday morning worship, adult Sunday school class, Nursing Home Ministry, Wednesday Bible study, Wednesday Kids Clubhouse, Annual Community Coat Give-Away, Vacation Bible School, Operation Christmas Child, and missionary family support in Czechia through Global Partners.  The newest ministry
involves providing emergency totes filled with basic needs for community members who have lost their home to fire or natural disaster.

COMMUNITY PROFILE
The Wesleyan Church of Fairfield is located in a rural, farming area in Southern Illinois. Fairfield is the
county seat of Wayne County, Illinois. At the time of the 2020 census, the population of Fairfield was
just under 5,000 and the population of Wayne County is approximately 16,000.  
 
Fairfield is home to Frontier Community College, one of four colleges in the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District. The college offers both transfer and career-technical degrees that serves local students as well as athletes who come to play for the Frontier Bobcats. Fairfield Community High School has an enrollment of roughly 500 students. The school offers a large variety of opportunities for the Mules’ sports teams. There are four K-8 elementary schools that feed into the high school:  Center Street Elementary, Jasper Community Consolidated School, New Hope School, and Geff Community Consolidated School.
 
Fairfield has a thriving medical community that consists of a critical access hospital. Fairfield Memorial
Hospital offers emergency care, surgical care and office care. It is the city’s largest employer with a
workforce over 390 employees.
 
The locally owned and printed newspaper, The Wayne County Press, continues to be published twice a
week. WFIW is the local radio station.   There are a variety of summer and fall activities in the area.
